*Spoiler Alert!*

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I really liked Wonder Woman because of several reasons. Firstly, because in the story the ancient times were connected very nicely to modern times. Ares, the god of war, had caused lot of destruction in a war with gods and now, in the 20th century, mankind had started a war among themselves. This was the First World War, in which the evil side of people had become prominent again. And Diana, who had grown up as an Amazon warrior princess, had to leave her ancient world and become Wonder Woman in the modern world and fight the forces of evil.

Fearless and Good

I liked how Diana was well-read although she had never been in the outside world. I also admired the way she saw the world with a pure heart, totally uncorrupted by the ways of the world. At the same time, she believed that she cannot sit and do nothing. She must fight evil when she sees it. She uses her ‘truth lasso’ to get the truth out of people. She is fearless and good. Wonder Woman is a complete person in herself, able both mentally and physically.

Some of the men in the movie thought negatively about her. What was she doing in the war room, where the men decided everything? How can a woman fight in this bloody battle? She proved all the negative men in the movie wrong as not only could she look after herself, but she helped in capturing a post occupied by the Germans. She saved many innocent lives. And later on by destroying the German factory of poison gas, along with her friends, she made sure that peace returned.

The ‘Shield’ Moment

A scene that I really liked was when Steve (played by Chris Pine) the pilot, watched the Amazon women fighting the invaders on their island, Themyscira. He saw Antiope yell ‘Shield!’ and three other Amazon warriors put their shields above their heads and Antiope jumped on the shield and flew up in the air and killed three Germans with her arrows.

The same situation is repeated when Diana and Steve are fighting the Germans to free a town. Steve uses the same tactic that he had seen on the island. He and his friends pick up a metal plate and yelled ‘Shield!’ to Diana, and she jumps on the shield like a springboard and she is able to jump up and reach the German shooter high up in the bell tower.

Another scene that was good was the fight between Diana and Ares, where he tries to lure Diana towards evil and take her on his side. It was good to show that there were evil forces who wanted war on the German side and the English side.

Equal... but Sometimes Better

Lastly, I really appreciated the character of Steve, who saw Wonder Woman as not just a woman but also as a partner in fighting evil and as a fellow soldier in the war. He saw her as a person with a good heart. Steve was also very brave as he gave up his life in order to save thousands of lives. He was really selfless. This also leaves a message that people without supernatural powers can also do extraordinary things.

It was indeed the best-est movie ever as it showed women in a good light and not just equal to men but even better than them in lots of things.

I liked how the movie showed that there is good and evil in all of us. Also how the movie leaves this message that it is up to us what we choose to be… good or evil. I’m just waiting for Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman 2. She was very cool.
