Indian weddings are all about their overstated opulence. The louder the colour and the heavier the work, the better it is.

But in her latest appearance at a wedding, Sonam Kapoor managed to challenge the cliche, and how.

Styled by her sister Rhea Kapoor, the actor wore a red and white chaas embroidered sari from the stables of designer Nikasha Tawdey. The sari is from the designer’s latest collection, Noor.

A far cry from the dominance of gold and diamonds at such occasions, the actor chose an oxidised choker to accompany her attire.

We think the look was an interesting contrast, with the subtleties of the humble khadi fabric and the chaas embroidery and the brazen boldness of its off-the-shoulder blouse. We like that Sonam Kapoor likes to keep everyone guessing about what she is really thinking while picking a look!
