Did you celebrate Father’s Day? What did you do? While many marked 18 June with a social media tribute to their fathers, a former Air Force pilot from Mumbai embraced the meaning of the day in it’s truest sense.
The man decided to ditch the clichéd Father’s Day messages for a moving post dedicated to his wife, who has stood by his side for years.
In the post, shared by Humans of Bombay, the ex-air force pilot writes about how his wife single-handedly cared for their children while he was away on duty. He writes:
Everything I am today, I owe to my wife. While I was away, which was for the most part of the year, she was a mother and a father to our children.

So really, I mean it when I say that I am because of her. I love my children, it has been an honour for me to be their father, but today, I’d like to wish my wife, ‘Happy Father’s Day’ and thank her for everything she’s done for us.
This touching post is an ode to all those who have been a father figure in our lives and have held our hand through trying times.
