Amit Shah, the current president of the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), was elected as an MLA from Sarkhej region of Gujarat for four consecutive terms.
A close aide to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shah helped oversee the BJP’s campaign during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
According to his official website, Shah was born to Kusumben and Anilchandra Shah, an affluent Gujarati family, in 1964 in Mumbai. He lived in Maansa village till the age of 16, before moving to Ahmedabad.
He became a member of the BJP in 1984-85. The website credits the party chief with making the BJP world’s largest political party with over 10 crore members.

From the late 1980’’s to 1990’s, Odenkirk worked as a writer for television shows like Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Get a Life, The Ben Stiller Show and The Dennis Miller Show.
Odenkirk starred in The Spectacular Now, which received the Special Jury Award for Acting at 2013 Sundance Film Festival. He also directed a segment of the 2013 anthology comedy Movie 43.
