Hedy Lamarr was an Austrian and American film actress and inventor. After a brief and controversial career in Czechoslavakia, she fled from her husband and moved to Paris. In Parish she met MGM head Louis B. Mayer and was offered a movie contract in Hollywood.
Besides being a glamorous and a fairly successful film star, she is also famous for her invention. She, along with George Anthill, created a frequency-hopping system to combat the Nazis in World War II. This invention of theirs served as a basis for modern spread-spectrum communication technology, an example of which is Bluetooth.
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ fans rejoice! Eric Dane, famous for his role as Dr Mark Sloan in the series, as also acted in several successful and multi-starrer films. Some of the big names from his hall of fame include ‘Marley & Me’, ‘Valentine’s Day’ and ‘Burlesque’. Dane started his acting career in 1993, playing small time rolls in multiple television series, but his rise to fame has been steady. In October, 2012, Dane joined the main cast of the Michael Bay-produced TNT drama series “The Last Ship,” and is also one of the producers of the show.
King Edward VII
Edward VII served as the King of United Kingdom, British Dominion and Emperor of India from 1901 to 1910. He was the oldest son of Queen Victoria and the longest serving heir apparent to the British throne. He is also the longest serving holder of the “Prince of Wales” title. He played the role of the ‘peacemaker’ between England and France by fostering good relations between the two countries. Royal socializing and traditional ceremonies played a highly consequential rule during the reign of King Edward VII.
Popular South Korean actress, director, singer, songwriter and novelist, Ku Hye-sun has starred in many television dramas and films and has even written scripts for two of her own directorial ventures. Some of her popular performances have been in ‘Pure in Heart,’ ‘The King and I,’ ‘Boys Over Flowers’ and ‘Blood.’ iN 2009, she published her first illustrated novel “Tango.” Ke Hye-sun has also received the Korea Fulfillment Award and the Ministry Award for “sharing happiness” for her charitable acts.
