Internet is the greatest tool on this planet, use it to thoroughly research on the future employer. Find out information for the role you will be interviewing for, and familiarise yourself with basic information regarding the company.
Look Sharp And Well Groomed
‘Never judge a book by the cover’, but recruiters choose to ignore the phrase. Make sure that your nails are cut short and are clean. Also, dress appropriately. Women, always tie your hair neatly or if you prefer to keep them open then make sure there are no strays. And men, make an effort to shave or style your beard with Gillette’s precision. Recruiters, from all over the world, tend to prefer well-groomed professionals.
Show Up On Time
We would suggest showing up 10 mins before schedule. It is always good to get a glass of water and straighten yourself before you enter the room. Wouldn’t you rather make a more confident entry as compared to a late one?
Present The Best Version
Always be prepared for expected questions. Recruiters will ask certain questions - Why do you think you are a fit for the job? What are your most impressive qualities? - your responses to these queries should sound thoughtful and deep. Avoid giving ‘on the spur’ answers. Sell yourself well by highlighting your achievements and qualities, at the same time, keep it short.
Question The Interviewer
Show that you’re interested in the company and the profile being offered. Ask them questions regarding the role they see you a fit for and what your Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) will be. But, keep the questions about the benefits, like leave policy, to a minimum.
Remember, no matter how nervous you’re feeling on the inside; always have a relaxed demeanour, a smile along with a firm handshake. This shows your confidence.
