A 30-year-old Punjab police sub-inspector called Manjit Kaur married a woman in Jalandhar following Hindu rituals on Sunday. While the cop wore a red turban, her bride donned a lehenga and both rode a chariot, according to The Tribune. And not just that, the marriage took place with the consent from both the families, according to a report in India.com. This was a first of its kind in Punjab and it sets a a perfect example for others. It is also seen as a mark of protest against Section 377 of the IPC that was recriminalised four years ago by the Supreme Court.
