Two days after the Supreme Court declared instant Triple Talaq ‘unconstitutional’, another verdict of the apex court come in for praise.
A nine-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice JS Khehar unanimously ruled that right to privacy is protected intrinsically as part of rights guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution.
Social media was cheering the verdict, with some users calling it the “biggest judgment of this century so far by the Supreme Court.”
The manner in which the top court wore a cape and came to the rescue of Indian citizens, was appreciated by Twitterarti.

Some commented on the fate of the Aadhaar and said ‘RIP’ in advance to its mandatory linking and registration to bank accounts and telecom numbers.

Many breathed a sigh of relief hoping the pados wali aunty or uncle would stop poking their nose in personal matters and that private businesses stop shoving their products and services down everyone’s throats.
