Puthiya Tamizhagam party founder K Krishnasamy sent legal notices to Bigg Boss host and actor Kamal Haasan, a contestant of the show Gayathri Raguram and the television channel, demanding Rs 100 crore in damages, reported The New Indian Express.

The notice has been sent for referring to a particular community in a derogatory manner.

“I have already appealed to actor Gayathri Raguram, a Bigg Boss Tamil contestant, to apologise for abusing another participant by saying that she was behaving like ‘slum people’. The term, which has hurt members of a particular community, should have been edited out by the channel,” said Krishnasamy during a press conference.

He added that it has been two weeks and neither Kamal Haasan, the channel nor the contestant has apologised for misusing the community’s name. He warned that if they do not respond to the legal notice sent to them, he will file a case against them, reported The New Indian Express.

Tamil Nadu ministers have been hitting back at Kamal Haasan for blaming the system for corruption.

Last week, Chief Minister Edapaddi Palanisamy dared the actor to enter politics, saying that he would then get a befitting reply. On the other hand, Kamal Haasan requested people of Tamil Nadu to send complaints against corruption to the ministers concerned in a digital format.

He had asked people to explain the travails faced by them due to corruption and ask questions in a respectable manner.  He had also said that he would cite corruption in the cinema field.

Earlier, Municipal Administration Minister SP Velumani had challenged Kamal Haasan to prove the existence of corruption in the government and also asked if he was ready to share the details of taxes paid for his movies.

He had also threatened to probe the actor’s tax history to find evidence of wrongdoing. Tamil Nadu Finance Minister D Jayakumar had also dared Kamal Haasan to enter politics.

However, DMK leader MK Stalin defended Kamal, stating that every voter had the right to criticise the ‘benami’ and ‘horse-trading’ government.

AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam had also supported Kamal by saying that everyone in a democracy has the right to express their views.
