Minor Girls Gangraped

The incident comes close on the heels of a case where two minor girls were allegedly gangraped in UP’s Mansurpur area on 22 May. The incident occurred in Muzaffarnagar’s Nawala village when the two sisters went to the ration shop. According to reports, they were allegedly raped at gunpoint by the ration dealer’s son and his friends.

The family of the minors lodged an FIR. The five accused, including the ration dealer’s son, were apprehended by the police two days later.

However, the minors’ father said that the accused had been released on bail.

The accused comes from a strong background...This has influenced the police and they are not taking appropriate action against him. Initially, the accused was arrested under Section 307 in the Indian Penal Code (IPC), but now he is out on bail.

On the other hand, Muzaffarnagar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajesh Kumar said, "After receiving medical reports of the two girls, we will take appropriate action against the accused."
