Arunabh Kumar, CEO of the digital entertainment start-up The Viral Fever (TVF), was formally arrested and then released on bail on Saturday. The police are now in the process of filing a chargesheet, which they claim will be done shortly.

Arunabh was earlier booked for molestation based on a complaint by a victim in Mumbai, almost two weeks after a blog detailing the harassment first surfaced on the internet.

Arunabh has been booked under Sections 354 and 509 of IPC, for outraging the modesty of a woman and molestation. A woman who claims to have been his victim had filed a complaint with the MIDC police station first. A second victim filed a separate FIR with Versova police station later.

Unable to bear daily harassment from his boss, a 26-year-old Virar resident took his own life, leaving behind a goodbye photo on his WhatsApp account and a five-page suicide note blaming his employer.

The deceased, Pankaj Bane, resided at Fulpada Road, Virar (E), with his parents, sister Pratiksha (23) and brother Prashant (21). Pankaj used to work at a gift shop in Virar (W) run by Raj Choudhary.

A special court on Tuesday awarded seven years in jail to gangster Chhota Rajan and other accused in the fake passport case.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on each of them.

CBI special judge Virender Kumar Goyal heard arguments on the sentencing of Rajan and others before pronouncing the quantum of punishment to be awarded to the convicts.

On Monday, the Patiala House Court had convicted Chhota Rajan, aka Rajendra Sadashiv Nikhalje, and three government officials in connection with the case.

Motorman 'Forgets' to Stop Train; Goes to Yard

A Western Railway motorman piloting a Churchgate to Malad train did not stop the train at Malad and took it straight to the Kandivali carshed on Monday morning, causing commotion among hundreds of passengers who were traveling in the train.

The motorman later told railway officials, that he ‘forgot’ to halt the train at Malad, and realized his mistake only after he diverted the train to the carshed railway line. The 10:50 am local from Churchgate was scheduled to reach Malad at 11:33 am.

As per routine, the train was to be taken to the carshed at Kandivali after its stop. That is why after it reached Malad, the line was set accordingly and the rake (train) went straight to the carshed

Cops Play Speedy Gonzales, Chase Down Rash Bikers

On Monday night, rash bikers got a shock when they found the Kherwadi police standing in their way, waiting to catch them in the act. In a span of just five hours – from 11 pm to 4 am – the cops booked a total of 38 youngsters rash riding or other offences such as riding triple seat or without helmet or licence.

The Kherwadi police held nakabandis at five different spots – Bandra railway bridge, Kherwadi junction, Kalanagar junction, Teachers' Colony and the highway bridge. The cops stood right in the middle of the road to catch violators, who tried various dangerous routes of escape, from cutting lanes to riding in the opposite direction to the traffic and even trying to race past the constables posted at the check points. But, the cops spared no one, and even chased the bikers on foot when they had to.

Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi was spotted shooting at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) Station here for his upcoming film Beyond The Clouds.

The Oscar nominated filmmaker was shooting a special film sequence, read a statement from the makers of the film.

Produced by Zee Studios and Eyecandy Films, the project is Majidi's Indian story for a global audience.

Based on human relationships, the film covers the nuances of a brother-sister relationship that offshoots into many more interesting situational aspects - a style Majidi is well known for.

MTDC Inks MOU With Etihad, Jet Airways to Promote Tourism

Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) today said it has signed an agreement with Etihad and Jet Airways to attract more visitors to the state and to leverage on the airline's expanding international network.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) there will be number of joint marketing activities like in-flight magazine promotion, website promotion as well as advertising and digital campaigns to promote Maharashtra as a leisure destination, MTDC said in a release issued here.

Both the aviation groups would also provide information to its users on less-explored but high potential destinations in Maharashtra, it added.
