The cultural unit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Sanskar Bharti, will now have awards in the field of Arts, Culture and Literature, after a go-ahead from the Ministry of Culture. The awards will be called Naimishya Samman.
The Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsava will be held in Varanasi next month, to kickstart the first edition of the awards.
The jury for it will comprise of prominent International and Indian artists like Sonal Mansingh. The budget for the Banaras extravaganza has been fixed at around Rs 220 crore, out of which around Rs 70 crore have been kept for the awards and the rest for the event, sources told DNA.
"The Sanskriti Mahotsava will be held each year now. It is a confluence or arts and culture, where in, we try to bring together artists from remote places to showcase their talent," said a senior official with Ministry of Culture.
The Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsava, which is an initiative of the Ministry of Culture is currently going on in Delhi and its other editions will be held in Bangalore, Jammu and Kashmir apart from the one in Varanasi.

The awards will have categories like Peace, Human Rights, Literature, Visual and Performing Arts, Science, Education and others, reported DNA.
The awards have been slated to be an annual affair, starting from November this year.
