London, March 14 (IANS) In a blow to England and Tottenham Hotspur, star striker Harry Kane was on Wednesday ruled out of action for at least a month following damaged ankle ligaments which he picked up in Sunday's English Premier League (EPL) win over Bournemouth.
According to a BBC report, Tottenham said in a statement that "preliminary assessments" confirmed the injury after a scan on Monday.
Kane injured his right ankle in a collision with Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
The prolific goal-getter has so far netted 35 goals for his club this season and is a big hope for England in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Kane, 24, is set to miss Tottenham's FA Cup quarter-final clash against Swansea City on Saturday, as well as two England friendly matches the following week.
Gareth Southgate's men travel to the Netherlands on March 23 before hosting Italy on March 27.
