Haryana to be made stray cattle-free by January 26
Chandigarh, Sep 19 (IANS) Haryana will be made stray cattle-free by January 26 next year, announced a senior state officer on Wednesday.
Strict actions would be taken against those, whose cattle are found roaming on the roads and fine would also be imposed on them, said Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rakesh Gupta.
Gupta was presiding over a review meeting of development works, schemes and projects, with all Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and other district officers through video conferencing here.
He said further action plan would be prepared keeping in view the performance of those districts which are doing well in making their districts stray cattle-free.
Every month, discussion would be held with the officers concerned in this regard.
Under the Haryana Vision Zero scheme, Gupta directed the officers to ensure that roads are properly painted for ensuring proper visibility for safe movement of traffic.
He directed the nodal officers to work on road safety in a time-bound manner.
