Ranchi, Sep 12 (IANS) Fares of private buses in Ranchi have gone up steeply due to rising prices of petrol and diesel.
"We have no other option but to increase the bus fares. We have increased it by Rs 10, Rs 20 and Rs 30 for a distance of 50 km, 100 km and 150 km respectively," Krishna Mohan Singh, President of the Ranchi Bus Owners Association, told reporters.
He said the price of the diesel had increased upto Rs 10 per litre in the last one month.
In Jharkhand, the price gap between petrol and diesel is less than Rs 3 a litre. On Wednesday, petrol and diesel prices were Rs 80.10 and Rs 77.40 per litre respectively.
