The high wind speed, assisted in small measures by the odd-even scheme of the Delhi government, aided in bringing down pollution levels in Delhi by nearly 60 percent. On the morning of 6th November, The average AQI for the region was 263, still ‘very unhealthy’ but down from ‘hazardous’ levels.

With wind speed recorded in the 17-19 km/h levels, it helped lift the heavy pollution that had engulfed Delhi-NCR since Diwali.

Most parts of the country ranged in the the ‘unhealthy’ to ‘very unhealthy’ zone.

Delhi: 263 (very unhealthy)

Mumbai: 102 (Unhealthy for sensitive people)

Bengaluru: 179 (Unhealthy)

Chennai: 184 (Unhealthy)
