Delhi government has decreased the reservation of COVID-19 ICU beds in private medical hospitals by 25 per cent from earlier 40 pre cent requirement, the APP government informed the Delhi High Court, reports Hindustan Times.
The matter has been listed for further hearing by Justice Naveen Chawla on February 2 after the counsel for petitioner Association of Healthcare Providers said he is waiting for more directions from private hospitals.
The association wanted to the courts to quash the Delhi government's September 12, 2020 order to reserve 80% ICU beds for COVID-19 patients in 33 private emergency hospitals.
The government has reduced the reservation of beds and ICU beds after evaluating the occupancy over the last several weeks. On January 15, the government reduced the requirement for general beds and ICU beds to 25 per cent.
After the peak of November, when Delhi was reporting nearly 8000 cases daily, there's been a drastic fall. On January 19, Delhi reported only 231 cases.
