A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by three youths of her neighbourhood in the Civil Lines area on June 23.

According to a complaint filed on June 28, the accused took her to a secluded spot in Nagla Sarki village on a motorcycle. The youths fled the scene leaving her unconscious after they raped her, police said.

The SP added that the forensic team could not get any evidence from the spot due to rains owing to the fact that the complaint was filed five days late on June 28, but the incident allegedly took place on June 23.

Due to changing statement of the girl, we are facing difficulty in the probe. We are taking precautions so that no innocent is framed in the case.

Dr Hakim Singh, who performed the medical examination on the victim, said that a condom, a piece of a match box, some cloth, a plastic cap and an inch-long piece of wood that were allegedly inserted in her private parts were recovered. Dr Singh, however, suspects that these items were planted in the girl’s body sometime later.

Had these items been inserted in the body of the girl on June 23 during rape, it would have caused infection as the girl’s menstrual cycle started from June 22. All those items were dry and there were no stains of blood on them.

The police await the medical and forensic reports to reach any conclusion.
