SRK Says He’s No One to Judge Salman for His ‘Rape’ Comment
Shah Rukh Khan told reporters that he’s no one to judge Salman or anyone else for what they say.
Ever since Salman Khan made the insensitive ‘raped woman’ remark, Bollywood has been deafeningly silent on the issue. Barring a few exceptions of course.
Even king Khan SRK chose to side-step the question about his new best friend’s ‘misquote’. When Shah Rukh Khan was asked if Salman should apologise for his comment, the actor said he’s no one to judge another person’s actions, when he himself goofs up all the time.
In the last few years I have come to realise that I have made so many inappropriate comments myself. I don’t think I am someone to sit in judgement for anybody else’s comment. To be really honest, it is not about taking sides. I myself am speak such a lot (inappropriately), who am I to judge him on this? Personally speaking, I don’t think I am anyone to comment on this. I am so inappropriate myself. I have said some really wrong things also.Shah Rukh Khan (as reported by NDTV)
Shah Rukh had received a lot of flak in 2015 for his remarks on religious intolerance, following which he decided to be more selective about his comments and battles.
Following his rape remark, comparing his intensive physical labour to what a raped woman probably feels like, Salman Khan was summoned by the National Commission of Women earlier this week, but failed to appear for it. Though he sent a letter through his lawyer, he hasn’t put in a formal apology yet.
Salman has been asked to appear before the NCW again on 8 July.
