YRF’s Fan didn’t perform as well at the box office as it was expected to. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer has managed to collect only Rs. 79.25 so far but Aditya Chopra still has a reason to smile. Chopra has managed to sell the satellite rights of the film to Sony Entertainment Television for a whopping Rs 55 cr and that will add to a good recovery, which will take Fan to the green. Now all eyes will be on the TRPs of Fan when it airs on Sony TV.

2. Salim Khan Backs Son Salman Khan

The Indian Olympic Association’s decision to make Salman Khan the goodwill brand ambassador for the Rio-bound Olympic contingent came in for a fair amount of backlash. But Salman’s father Salim Khan came to his son’s rescue. In reply to Milkha Singh’s question as to why we need to “import a person from Bollywood” to be the brand ambassador, Salim tweeted saying that it was Bollywood which resurrected the legendary sprinter from fading away.

The veteran scriptwriter also said that his superstar son may not have competed in the Olympics but is a A-level swimmer, cyclist and weight-lifter. Check out Salim Khan’s tweets supporting Salman below:

3. I Am Irreplaceable: Priyanka Chopra

Last week Priyanka Chopra made it to the 100 most influential people’s list of Time magazine and this didn’t come as a surprise to anyone back home, as her career is at its peak right now. Priyanka is the main lead in the popular foreign TV series Quantico and she continues to do Bollywood films too. In a heartwarming video interview done for Time, the actress revealed that as a child she was low on self-esteem but later grew out of it. She confidently added that way back a film producer had told her that actresses can be easily replaced in films but now she proudly says this, loud and clear that she is irreplaceable. We couldn’t agree more!

4. Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a New Avatar

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be playing the notorious serial killer Raghav in filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s next. He plays the title role in Raman Raghav 2.0. The film is based on the serial killer who went on a killing spree in Mumbai during the 1960s. Raghav reportedly killed 23 people in 1966 and more in 1968. Raman Raghav 2.0 will premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival this year and hit Indian cinemas on June 24.

5. Hrithik Roshan Is On a Veggie Diet

Hrithik Roshan who is waiting to start his next film, Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil, is currently on a vegetarian diet. The actor who had bulked up for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Mohenjo Daro is now losing weight by eating only a vegetarian diet and egg whites. He has always loved non-vegetarian food, so this is also a test for the superstar.

Hrithik’s next release will be Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Mohenjo Daro later this year, which will be followed by Gupta’s Kaabil.

6. R&B Singer Billy Paul Passes Away

Popular R&B singer Billy Paul known for his 1972 hit single Me and Mrs. Jones passed away at his New Jersey home on April 24, he was 80. Mirror.co.uk reported that he passed away due to a serious medical condition. A statement on his website read, “We regret to announce with a heavy heart that Billy has passed away today at home after a serious medical condition. We would like to extend our most sincere condolences to his wife Blanche and family for their loss, as they and the world grieves the loss of another musical icon that helped pioneer today’s R&B music. Billy will be truly missed.” Paul’s bagged a Grammy for Me and Mrs Jones in his 60 years long career.

Paul is survived by wife Blanche and two children.
