Salman Khan’s dad and veteran screenwriter Salim Khan made his debut on Twitter on Tuesday and his first tweets were regarding an ongoing national debate – the chanting of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

Salim backed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent statement that nobody should be forced to say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and then went on to sign off his series of 3 tweets with ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

Salman Khan retweeted his dad’s social media posts after welcoming him on board Twitter.

Salman had last year courted controversy on Twitter after posting messages that suggested that Yakub Memon was ‘innocent’ and should not be hanged for the acts of his brother Tiger Memon. The actor soon deleted his controversial tweets after being pulled up by his dad.

Now that Salim himself is on Twitter, he’ll be keeping a close watch on Salman’s social media posts. So, Salman’s got himself an in-house net nanny and Salim has got over 13 thousand followers in under 24 hours already.

Yup, that’s what happens when you get retweeted by Salman Khan.
