1. “Wasn’t Driving, Wasn’t Drunk” Says Salman Khan
According to an ANI report, Salman Khan filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court on Wednesday in the 2002 alleged hit and run case, which states that the police is trying to implicate him falsely. The actor takes a stand in the affidavit to say that he wasn’t driving the car that night and neither was he drunk at the time of the accident. He also said that his driver Ashok Singh was at the wheel. The actor alleged that cops had refused to record his driver’s statement since they were under pressure to arrest the actor.
2. And it’s a Wrap for Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees
The final schedule of Rahul Dholakia’s Raees starring Shah Rukh Khan, Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui just wrapped up in Mumbai. SRK took to Twitter and said that he will miss all the fun and intensity of working on the film. The superstar sarcastically said that he’ll miss wearing kohl. The film is set to hit theatres on July 3rd, 2016. King Khan praised his Raees crew calling it the ‘sweetest unit ever’.
3. The Trailer of Nagesh Kukunoor’s Dhanak Will Touch Your Heart
Nagesh Kukunoor, the director of critically acclaimed films like Iqbal and Dor, is ready with his next film titled Dhanak. This is the story of a visually impaired boy and his sister, who believes that he’ll get his eyesight back if he meets superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The brother-sister duo embark on a journey across Rajasthan to meet the actor, who they hear is shooting near Jaisalmer. The film releases in theatres on June 10th, 2016 and has won big at reputed film festivals abroad. Watch the trailer right here!
4. Have You Seen the New Sarbjit Poster?
The poster of Omung Kumar’s film based on the life of Sarabjit Singh, was just released online. It shows Randeep Hooda and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who play the lead roles in the Omung Kumar biopic. The poster shows a close shot of Randeep Hooda’s face wearing a broken pair of spectacles, suggesting his long struggle in a Pakistani prison. Aishwarya Rai is seen in a rustic salwar kameez, wearing a worried expression. She plays Sarabjit Singh’s sister Dalbir Kaur in the film.
Sarbjit is the story of an Indian farmer, who was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan, and was sentenced to death. He was attacked inside a prison in Lahore in April 2013, and he died a few days later. Sarbjit releases in theatres on May 20th, 2016.
5. George Clooney and Julia Roberts Come Together Again for Money Monster
Two Hollywood hotties George Clooney and Julia Roberts are coming back to the big screen after quite a while in Jodie Foster’s directorial venture Money Monster. Foster, the Academy Award winning actress turned director, tells the thrilling story of a business TV host Lee Gates (George Clooney) and his producer Patty (Julia Roberts), who are put in an explosive situation when an angry investor played by Jack O’Connell, who has lost every penny he had, forcefully takes over their studio. During a tense standoff broadcast to millions on live TV, Lee and Patty must work furiously against the clock to unravel the mystery behind a conspiracy at the heart of today’s fast-paced, high-tech global markets.
