Salim Khan is a super dad and has no qualms about apologising on behalf of Salman Khan for his infamously viral misquote about ‘feeling like a raped woman’, thanks to the intensive physical labour he was made to put in, on the sets of his upcoming wrestler drama Sultan.

Undoubtedly what Salman said is wrong, the simili, example and the context. The intention was not wrong.

The legendary writer is good with words, which is a blessing for his son, who clearly isn’t.

Nevertheless I apologise on behalf of his family his fans and his friends. Forgiveness is to pardon the unpardonable or it is no virtue at all.

Well, all that the faux pas really warrants is for Salman to apologise (which he kinda did as soon as the ‘misquoted’ comment came out of his mouth), not his family, his fans and his friends. What crime did they commit?

To err is human, to forgive divine, Mr Khan. But it’s also ironic because Arijit Singh didn’t get Salman’s forgiveness despite his desperate and heartfelt apology for his misdemeanour. More than International Yoga Day, you’ve just set a great example that’s fit for Fathers’ Day.

Maybe it’s time that Salman too got a crash course in choosing his words and being more generous with forgiveness.

We'll get through this! Meanwhile, here's all you need to know about the Coronavirus outbreak to keep yourself safe, informed, and updated.
