QuickE: SRK Is Sad, Magnificent Bajirao Trailer Is Out and More
SRK is sad about wrapping up Fan, Bajirao Mastani trailer releases, Hrithik to act in a Rakesh Roshan film & more.
1. Shah Rukh Khan Is Sad About Wrapping Up Fan
King Khan tweeted about his emotional experience of filming for his next venture Fan, which will be releasing on April 15th next year. The final schedule seems to have wrapped up and Shah Rukh is already feeling nostalgic about the film. The upcoming thriller is close to his heart understandably, since its about his life as the super star that he really is, and it’s a double role to top that. Well Shahrukh, for now, you have Dilwale to be excited about, so cheer up!
2. Bajirao Mastani Trailer Is Nothing Less Than Magnificent
The trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani is finally out and it looks absolutely incredible. While Ranveer’s accent sounds fairly accurate, the ladies haven’t been able to do much justice to sounding Marathi. But they do make up for it with their on-screen presence and convincing performances. This film has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s visual magnanimity galore.
Every shot looks like a painting and the story seems pretty edgy as well. While Priyanka Chopra couldn’t make it back home for the trailer release, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansalli were present at the film’s trailer launch event in Mumbai.
3. Rakesh Roshan To Direct Hrithik In a Film?
Actor and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan reportedly said that he’s working on a romantic film, but he didn’t give out any more details, saying that it’s still to early to talk about it. Will his son Hrithik Roshan be in it? Of course! Now that’s a stupid question. Senior Roshan clearly said that he will never make a film without Hrithik.
This isn’t the first time daddy Roshan will be directing his son. To jog your memory, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish and Krrish 3 were all directed by Rakesh Roshan. We do hope a Krrish 4 is not in the making, but we’ll know soon enough. Hrithik is currently filming for Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro.
4. Farah Khan Rubbishes the Income Disparity Debate In Bollywood
“You get what you deserve” is what Farah Khan has to say about the debate around female actress getting paid much less than their male counterparts, in Bollywood. She’s of the opinion that an actor’s earnings should be proportional to how much money he or she generates at the box office.
You get paid what you deserve, according to the money that your movie generates. I get much more than a lot of male directors and I also get less than some. But I get paid what I deserve and what I ask for. I feel it’s a business model. Today if Shah Rukh Khan or Salman (Khan) generate Rs 300 Crore, they will not be paid the same as a heroine, who generates Rs 50 Crore.- Farah Khan, Filmmaker and Choreographer
While many in the industry might disagree with her, she is a bold voice and always makes a strong point on such issues. Read the full Hindustan Times story here.
5. Angry Indian Goddesses Gets Chopped Drastically By the Censor Board
The Angry Indian Goddesses are now furious and Pahlaj Nihalani is the man to blame. Being touted as India’s first female ‘buddy film’, Pan Nalin’s film has received applause and accolades abroad, but back home, it’s a different story. The censor board’s Examining Committee has ordered drastic cuts in the film, that supposedly censor ‘profane references to Hindu goddesses’.
Tannishtha Chatterjee’s character has taken the most severe beating as per the actresses’s statement published in a DNA report. Chatterjee said that while the film has earned her a lot of praise abroad, in the current version of it, her part has been chopped down to almost nothing.
Unfortunately the film releases nationwide in two weeks and the actress is not expecting the CBFC to budge in time. The film is now with the Revising Committee for the final decision.
