Actor Pankaj Tripathi has confirmed that he will be making a cameo in Irrfan Khan’s Angrezi Medium, the sequel to 2017’s Hindi Medium. The film will be directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan, who has previously worked with Pankaj on Stree and Luka Chuppi.
The actor has said that it was his closeness to both Irrfan and Dinesh Vijan that prompted him to take on a role in the film. “It is my love and respect for Irrfan and my friendship with Dinoo [Dinesh Vijan] that made me say yes," he told mid-day.
Pankaj will reportedly play wheeler-dealer who runs a travel agency and helps Irrfan’s character and his on-screen daughter to reach the UK.
Angrezi Medium marks Irrfan’s return to acting after a hiatus in London where he was being treated for a neuroendocrine tumour. He plays a sweet shop owner in the film with Radhika Madan as his daughter who wishes to pursue studies in the UK. Kareena Kapoor has also been signed on for the film.
