Konkona Sen Sharma’s ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ Wins Big at NYIFF

Along with the Best Actor award, she also won the Best Director trophy for ‘A Death in the Gunj’.

While the Konkona Sen Sharma-starrer Lipstick Under My Burkha did not get the much-deserved acceptance in India due to the whims of the Censor Board, the film has been making waves internationally. And it has just got bigger with Konkona winning the Best Actress award at the New York Indian Film Festival.

What’s more, the actress has also won the award for Best Director for her debut film A Death in the Gunj. NYIFF took to Twitter to make the announcement.
