Actor Kangana Ranaut has now reacted to her name being dragged into the Mumbai illegal Call Detail Record (CDR) scam. According to a report, investigations had revealed that Kangana had messaged actor Hrithik Roshan’s number to her lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui, who may have sourced Hrithik’s CDR as well. The highly publicised spat between Kangana and Hrithik is well-known.

“When we respond to a notice, we give all details to a lawyer. To assume that these details were used to violate law & make statements based on that assumption and defame an artist is irresponsible on Abhishek Trimukhe’s part. Proper investigation should be carried out before making assumptions.”

According to a report in Mid-Day, Mukesh Ambani is set to co-produce superstar Aamir Khan's dream epic Mahabharata.

The RIL business magnate, whose media entities comprise Jio and Viacom18 recently invested in entertainment companies Eros and Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms.

Though there has been no official announcement, the buzz has set tongues wagging that Khan’s Mahabharata franchise, the series of which could span across 3-5 parts will be bestowed with a budget of Rs 1,000 crore. The production is geared to take on the scale of HBO’s The Game of Thrones and the Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

Sources confided in Mid-Day that international writers and multiple directors will be involved to up its global appeal.

5. How Is the TN Theatre Strike Affecting Small & Big Tamil Films?

The Tamil film industry has come to a screeching halt. The producers’ council first called for a strike over the rates charged by the Digital Service Providers (DSPs). While this protest was a decision taken by all four south Indian film industries, it’s only the Tamil industry which has refused to reconcile with the new terms offered by the DSPs.

Following this turn of events, theatre owners in Tamil Nadu announced an indefinite strike starting March 16 over the local body tax and the government’s rules regarding seating, license renewal and theatre maintenance. Only theatres in Chennai and a few screens outside the city are open but the majority are shut.
