Nawazuddin Makes Tamil Debut, Starts Shooting With Rajinikanth

The ‘Manto’ actor shared a picture from the sets of the film.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui will team up with Rajnikanth for the first time.

After the one-two punch of Netflix’s Sacred Games and his role as the titular Urdu author in Nandita Das’ biographical drama Manto, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is on a roll.

Now, the versatile actor has made another exciting announcement through his latest Twitter post. Sharing a picture of himself reading the script, Nawaz announced that he has started shooting for his Tamil debut film with none other than Superstar Rajinikanth.

Along with a picture from the sets, Nawazuddin said, "Rehearsing my lines for my first Tamil movie #Thalaivar165. Delighted to be working with the Superstar #Thalaivar"

The action drama film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Simran, Sanath Reddy, Munishkanth, Megha Akash and Deepak Ramesh in important roles. It is directed by Pizza and Jigarthanda filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj

Karthik too shared his excitement on Twitter, writing: "Welcome to Tamil cinema, sir... We too are delighted to work with you..  #Thalaivar165"

Nawaz will next be seen in Manto which hits the big screen on 21 September.
