‘Viswasam’ Release: 2 Stabbed, Another Set on Fire in Tamil Nadu

A massive cutout of Actor Ajith Kumar collapsed when fans tried to climb on its top to do a paal (milk) abishegam to celebrate the release of Viswasam on 10 January. The incident at Srinivasa theatre in Vizhupuram in Tamil Nadu left six injured.

In another incident, 20-year-old Prasanth and his 30-year-old uncle Ramesh from Kalinjur in Katpadi taluk were stabbed when they got caught in a tussle with a local gang at the Alankar Theatre in Vellore. According to The News Minute, Prashanth sustained serious injuries while Ramesh was stabbed on his hand. Both are under treatment, while the police is questioning 15 gang members.

In another incident, a 20-year-old allegedly set his father, a beedi worker from Dharapadavedu, on fire when he refused to give him money for a special show of Viswasam.
