CIA analyst Jack Ryan is thrown in the middle of dangerous situations.

Picture this: You’re an upcoming CIA analyst with a secure desk job. Most of your work involves making reports on a laptop. In other words, you have what people would call a fairly regular job. Then one fine day, you’re airlifted from a party and abruptly transported to an action-packed field where you got to chase terrorists. Sounds scary, isn’t it? But trust Jack Ryan, the protagonist of Amazon Prime Video’s latest original, to have a life less ordinary. His life changes in just a couple of moments as he is taken away from his job as an analyst and put in the middle of a dangerous field assignment. If the show’s promo is anything to go by, this is just the beginning. Watch it before we tell you more:

Jack Ryan is a character created by novelist Tom Clancy and has come to life in many forms before. We’ve seen him in books, movies and even video games, but this is his first small-screen outing. Actor John Krasinski is playing the titular role.

As Jack uncovers a major terrorist plot that threatens to destroy America, his search for answers takes him across continents. He finds himself in the middle of situations he has never encountered before, most of them life-threatening. From wielding guns and dodging bullets to interrogating people, Jack does everything he didn’t do as a ‘state department supply-chain logistician’. Will he be able to foil the terrorist attack or won’t he? Will he succeed in his on-field assignment? To find answers to all these questions, watch the show here as it’s live now on Amazon Prime Video.

Jack Ryan drops on Amazon Prime Video on Aug 31.

The promo has generated a lot of buzz and already has people guessing the possible outcomes of Jack’s incredible and life-altering journey. The series promises to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller that you just can’t help but binge-watch. And the best part is that it has already been renewed for a second season.
