What if Jack and Rose Spoke in Hindi on the Unsinkable Titanic?
Wah! Kya dialogue mara Jack puttar!
The British passenger liner, the Titanic, sank into the North Atlantic ocean on this day, 105 years ago, and spawned an iconic movie for the ages. We’ve seen the flick, but have you ever imagined it in Hindi?
We’ve all seen the 1997 blockbuster hit Titanic a few million times. And yes, our hearts will go on every time we see the young blue-eyed boy Leonardo DiCaprio aka Jack Dawson teach Kate Winslet, the rich, pretty, uptown girl Rose Dewitt Bukater to ‘fly’ or spit with abandon and to lead a carefree life.
But if there is one thing we never got to see in the film, even 20 years after its release, it has to be Jack puttar and Rose biba speaking in Hindi. How would the dialogues be written?
We at The Quint decided to rewrite some of the famous dialogues of Titanic in Hindi, and boy, they do read weird (although hilarious) when translated in our language.
