A few days back, Indian-American comedian Mindy Kaling and Priyanka Chopra had announced that they are collaborating on a yet untitled comedy focused on Indian weddings. Now, the groundwork has begun for an India schedule, mid-day has reported. While it has been reported that India and the US will be the two prime locations, sources told mid-day that Delhi and Rajasthan are the two venues that the makers are considering.

“Since Delhi and Rajasthan capture the essence of India, the two venues are being considered by the makers. A luxury villa in Ranthambore is also under lens,” the source adds.

Ajay Devgn Responds to Criticism for Working With Alok Nath

After being singled out for working with Alok Nath in De De Pyaar De, actor Ajay Devgn says replacing the disgraced actor would have been a monetary blow to the makers of the film.

"The said portions were shot over 40 days across various sets and an outdoor location with a combination of over 10 actors. By the time the allegations surfaced (in October 2018) the actors in the film, including me, had already started work on other films. Also, it would be near impossible to get all the dates and combinations of actors in the film and attempt a re-shoot with some other actor,” he said.

"It would also have been a huge monetary loss for producers. The decision to replace Alok Nath could never have been mine alone. In this case, I had to go with the joint decision of the unit. Not to forget, I could not have brought the entire combination of actors back or put up sets again for a 40-day re-shoot. Also, it could have meant doubling of budget, which again wasn't my call to make,” he added.

Vivek Oberoi Meets EC Over Modi Biopic Release

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, who plays Narendra Modi in the controversial biopic on the Prime Minister, met the Election Commission (EC) on Thursday over the film's release.

After the meeting, Oberoi said the poll panel watched the biopic on Wednesday and gave a "good response".

"I can't tell you their response, but we are happy after meeting them and getting their answer," he told reporters here.

"We hope the movie is allowed to be released soon as there's no political agenda behind PM Modi's biopic," he added.

The Supreme Court had on Monday directed the EC to watch the film "PM Narendra Modi" and submit its report, after the movie's producers cried foul that the poll panel barred the film's release without even watching it.

The filmmakers had moved the apex court challenging the EC's order delaying its release. The Supreme Court has scheduled the matter for the next hearing on April 22.

Last week, the EC issued an order barring the screening of political films during the Lok Sabha elections.
