Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently in the news for taking legal action against Filmfare, a popular film magazine, published by a powerful corporate house. The actor finally opened up on the controversy to clarify his stand. Interestingly the unsavoury story on Nawaz's allegedly troubled marriage, appeared after he tweeted about Om Puri not being honoured at the popular awards hosted by Filmfare.

The questions about my marriage which were raised by this particular magazine had entered my privacy. It affected not only me but my entire family. I had to take a stand. Doing the right thing is always a bigger priority for me than doing the acceptable thing. I have never bothered about the consequences of my actions. Main jo karta hoon soch-samajh kar karta hoon (a lot of thought goes into all my actions). I don’t believe in popular awards in any case.

Nawaz doesn't fear the repercussions of taking on Filmfare, an outfit that also hosts a popular awards function every year.

This was just after the Filmfare awards. I tweeted because I found it disturbing to see Omji honoured only at the Oscars, and not at home. The next thing I know, the concocted story on my marriage appeared.

The controversy aside, two of Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s most cherished dreams are coming true, which is he ecstatic about.

“I always wanted to go into space and I wanted to dance. I am getting to do both in my forthcoming films,” says Nawaz who plays an astronaut in Sanjay Chauhan’s Chanda Mama Door Ke and an aspiring dancer in Sabir Khan’s Munna Michael.

He admits dancing is more difficult than floating in space.

Dancing with Tiger is more difficult than going into space. We are in Delhi for a 4-day shoot of Munna Michael. The dance director Ganesh Acharya has a very tough time getting me to do the steps right. It doesn’t help when the other dancer is Tiger Shroff. But I enjoy dancing. I may not be getting the moves right. But I think I am dancing the way I am meant to.

It helps to have a team that is so calm and collected.

Working with Tiger and my director Sabir Khan is very calming. For me it’s very important to work with good people. In director Ravi Udyawar’s Mom I got to work with Srideviji. I used to watch her films when I was not an actor. I dreamt of one day being on screen with her. Cinema is where all your dreams come true.
