Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel were recently spotted seeking blessings at Mumbai's Siddhivinayak Temple. Dressed in a traditional Maharashtrian sari in green and gold and a red blouse, the actor appeared to be in good spirits and was seen pausing for photo-ops and waving to the crowd.

Kangana also tweeted about her visit saying that she felt "protected, loved and welcomed". She said that she sought blessings after receiving much "hostility", a likely dig at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) with whom she has recently locked horns.

"The amount of hostility I faced for standing up for my beloved city Mumbai baffled me, today I went to Mumba devi and Shri Siddhivinayak ji and got their blessings, I feel protected, loved and welcomed. Jai Hind Jai Maharashtra," Kangana tweeted.

On Wednesday, 24 December, a civil court in Mumbai dismissed Kangana Ranaut's petition for interim relief against the notice issued by the BMC for 'unauthorised' alterations made at her residence in Khar in 2018. In the notice, the BMC had alleged that unauthorised alterations were made at the actor's flat without the due permission of the body and she had been asked to remove that part of the construction. In January 2019, Kangana had challenged the notice before the civil court. In her petition she had also requested the court to restrain BMC officers from demolishing her property for the removal of the unauthorised construction. The matter will be heard next in February 2021.
