Regret Making My Personal Life so Public: Neha Kakkar

Neha Kakkar opened up about break-up with ex-boyfriend, actor Himansh Kohli.

Much like many celebrities before her, singer Neha Kakkar said that her one regret lay in making her personal life open to public scrutiny. Kakkar was speaking especially about her infamous break-up with boyfriend, actor Himansh Kohli, who found himself at the receiving end of a lot of flak - as many Kakkar fans blamed him for the relationship ending.

A report by Hindustan Times quoted her interview with Bombay Times, where Kakkar said: “I’m regretting the fact that I made my personal life so public. When it’s all happy, then you don’t see any problems. But it is during the bad times that you realise people can be so negative towards you and that shocked me.”

Kakkar, a judge on Indian Idol 10 and Kohli had announced their relationship on national television last year. There had even been rumours about the couple settling down and getting married.

After Kakkar announced her break-up on social media last December, Kohli was automatically called ‘disloyal’ in the relationship.

However, defending him, the singer said: “Himansh did nothing to deserve all that (flak). He was nothing like that at all. Still, he received so much hatred and negative comments on social media,” the report added.

The 30-year-old, who recently became the most followed Indian musician on Instagram with 20 million followers, told the newspaper: “I would not make the same mistake again, I will not make my personal life public. I have also realised that being a celebrity, there will be negative people and hatred around. But there is so much more positivity. Once you embrace that, you will not be affected by the negative side.”
