BMC Sends Notice to Mika Singh for Unauthorised Construction
Mika Singh seems to have fallen into trouble with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the singer was sent a notice at his flat in Oshiwara, Mumbai for alleged “illegal alterations in the flat”.
The BMC notice, sent under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning (MRTP) Act, stated that Mika had done “unauthorised merger of elevation features, ducts, voids and part podium for parking etc were contradictory to the OC plan”. The singer has been given a week to remove it before BMC demolishes the structures.
Mika's lawyer has, however, denied any “irregularities and the allegations”.
Kapil Sharma and Irrfan Khan also own a flat in Mika’s buidling and have previously come under the scanner for alleged illegal constructions. Kapil kicked up a storm in 2016 when he tweeted about allegedly being asked to pay a bribe of Rs 5 lakh to a BMC official, but was later accused of flouting rules in his flat in the building. Irrfan Khan, who owns a flat in the same building has also been accused of making illegal alterations in it.
