On 2 November, as Shah Rukh Khan turns a year older, his close friend Karan Johar took to Instagram to wish him on the special occasion. The filmmaker posted a bunch of throwback pictures with Shah Rukh Khan. The photos seem to have been clicked on sets of multiple films on which both KJo and SRK have worked together. Adding to that is KJo’s extremely heartfelt caption for the actor, in which he calls Shah Rukh his “teacher” and “family” and goes on to thank him for being his constant support system.

The caption of the photo reads, “Happy birthday Bhai @iamsrk.... Am not sure words are the best way to describe certain relationships...specially those that have such powerful have always been such a tremendous influence in my life! Like the best preacher teacher i have had the honour of calling my journey with you will always be the best phase of my career and life and there is still so much more to come...thank you for being you...thank you for always being there for mom and me and now our little ones...thank you for being my fathers best friend and my older brother for life!!! Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan have been close both professionally and personally. The duo has worked together on several films including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, My Name is Khan, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Shah Rukh Khan, who turns 54 today, kicked off his birthday by greeting his fans from his terrace at Mannat, his Mumbai residence. An annual tradition that many look forward to, Shah Rukh Khan showed up and waved with much enthusiasm.
