Filmmaker Confirms Kangana’s Jayalalithaa Biopic Not Being Stalled

Recently, rumours about upcoming film Thalaivi, which is a biopic of Jayalalithaa and stars actor Kangana Ranaut have been doing the rounds. According to reports, the film is struggling to acquire sufficient funds before it goes on floors in November. However, the same has been rubbished by Vishu, the producer of Thalaivi.

Vishu spoke to Times of India and confirmed that the preparation for the filming of Thalaivi is going exactly as it should. There have been no delays whatsoever. He further added that Kangana is, in fact, going to visit Jason Collins, the prosthetics expert, very soon. Collins has worked on Captain Marvel and lives in Los Angeles. Kangana will be travelling to Los Angeles for the same.

The film will be titled and Jaya in Hindi, and will be directed by ‘Devi’ filmmaker AL Vijay.

Vishu also told the media company that the filming of Thalaivi will begin after Diwali. He also called the rumours “baseless” and confirmed that the team was currently in Mysore for a location recce.

Kangana, who plays Jayalalithaa, will be seen in four different looks in the film. The biopic is an ambitious one in that it will be released in 3 languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu. It will have a budget of Rs 55 crore.

The film will be titled and Jaya in Hindi, and will be directed by Devi filmmaker AL Vijay. It is being written by KV Vijayendra Prasad, who has also penned Baahubali and Manikarnika. It is being produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh.
