Now that veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor has finally returned from New York after completing treatment for cancer, it’s perfect time for a celebration in the family. The industry is abuzz with speculation that Alia Bhatt, who is dating Rishi's son Ranbir Kapoor, is planning a grand homecoming party for him.

Rumours have been flying around ever since a newspaper report suggested Alia is keen to host a bash for Rishi at her dad/filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's residence.

Rishi was in the United States for almost a year undergoing treatment for bone marrow cancer which included getting a bone marrow transplant. He returned to his home country after much anticipation on 10 September.

A slew of family, friends, and celebrities from across the world, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Karan Johar, had visited Rishi and lifted his spirits over the past months in the Big Apple.

After coming back to India, Rishi was spotted visiting Neil Nitin Mukesh’s home for Ganpati darshan.

Recently, Alia and Ranbir made news after they shared sun-kissed pics of their vacation in Kenya on Instagram.

On the acting front, Alia will next be seen in Brahmastra along with Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is a sci-fi fantasy adventure and reportedly first of a three-film series.
