Actor-producer Dia Mirza, who is India’s Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations, attended the UN Climate Summit 2019 in the capacity of a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) advocate.

Dia had a packed day at the summit, attending young environmentalist Greta Thunberg’s powerful speech and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s talk where he committed that India would lead the way towards creating clean energy. She also interacted with the media from around the world.

The actor just about found time for a quick banana break, during which she had an exclusive chat with The Quint about her day at the summit.

“We saw some strong voices speak up. The youth champions and environmentalists like Greta Thunberg made the most powerful speeches. I will never in my lifetime forget what she said today. She said that this is not time to talk anymore. We need to see you act. We need to see you make the resolutions that will reverse the effects of climate crisis.”
