Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel had recently accused Game Over star Taapsee Pannu of copying Kangana and not acknowledging her while praising the trailer for Judgmentall Hai Kya.
Anurag Kashyap came out in support of Taapsee, saying that praising a trailer means acknowledging every aspect of a film. He took to Twitter to write, “ Come on Rangoli.. this is going too far.. this is really really desperate.. I really don’t know what to say to this. Having worked with both your sister and Taapsee.. I just don’t get this.. praising the trailer means praising all aspect of it. Which includes Kangana.”
Not one to back down, Rangoli hit back saying that Taapsee has always called Kangana an extremist. She had also earlier called out Varun Dhawan for not acknowledging Kangana in a tweet about the trailer of her upcoming film with Rajkummar Rao, Judgementall Hai Kya.
Kangana Responds
It seems that Kangana is supportive of Rangoli’s comments. The Queen actor told SpotboyE in an interview that her sister is only “protecting” her.
“I read Rangoli’s tweets. She was lovingly teasing Varun as he never responded to her when she urged him to speak about Manikarnika, and Tapasee has been saying derogatory things about me like needing a filter and being an extremist, which Rangoli is clearly upset about. This has nothing to do with her Judgementall Hai Kya tweet. The way Anurag is protecting Taapsee, my sister is protecting me! What’s the matter, anybody has problems with her tweets, can unfollow her,” she said.
Rangoli and Kangana Vs Anurag Kashyap
On Thursday, 4 July, Rangoli took on Anurag Kashyap’s defence of Taapsee in a series of tweets. The first read: “ You, Anurag Kashyap, have been calling Kangana last night and telling Taapsee is her fan, give me one media interaction where she said that, in fact she always calls Kangana extremist, Kangana has opinions so what? Why call her filter and extremist....”
Rangoli Accuses Taapsee of Copying Kangana
On Wednesday 3 July, Taapsee shared the trailer for the upcoming dark comedy on Twitter, saying, “This is so cool!!!! Always had high expectations out of this one n this looks so worth it ! #JudgementallHaiKya”
Rangoli retweeted Taapsee’s tweet, writing, “Kuch log Kangana ko copy kar ke he apni dukaan chalate hain, magar pls note, they never acknowledge her not even a mention of her name in praising the trailer, last I heard Taapsee ji said Kangana needs a double filter and Tapsee ji you need to stop being a sasti (cheap) copy”
During a interview in September 2018, when asked what she would gift Kangana, Taapsee had replied, “I will gift Kangana Ranaut a double filter.” Clearly Rangoli had not forgotten.
