Kangana Ranaut has been on the warpath with Bollywood, accusing actors like Alia Bhatt and Aamir Khan of not supporting her during the release of her film Manikarnika.

When Gully Boy director Zoya Akhtar was asked about the controversy, she told Pinkvilla, "of course people appreciate her work...I don't understand her accusations, I'm sorry."

When Alia attempted to extend an olive branch to the actor saying that she would personally apologise to Kangana if she felt that she had intentionally upset her, Kangana chose to lash out instead.

Kangana said, “I asked her if I can be courteous and gracious to acknowledge her requests for encouraging relevant work that she does, why is she so scared to see my film. I suggested that she grows some spine.”

“If she doesn’t have a voice of her own and her existence is all about being KJo’s puppet then I don’t consider her successful,” she added.

Responding to Kangana’s comments, Alia told DNA that she doesn’t wish to continue speaking to the media about the matter and maintained that she doesn’t know what could have prompted such a reaction from Kangana.

“I would like to react to her personally if she has any complaints. I don’t want to talk about it in the media. As I have said before, I really admire her as an actor and the choices that she makes. She’s a very outspoken person and I admire her for that as well. If I have upset her unintentionally, then I don’t know. Basically, it wasn’t my intention. I didn’t do anything to get a reaction like this.”
Alia Bhatt on Kangana Ranaut

Kangana’s Manikarnika has earned Rs 88.45 crore since its release on 25 January. Alia Bhatt will be seen alongside Ranveer Singh in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, which hits theatres on 14 February.
