Deepika Padukone, who was in New York to attend the MET Gala 2019, paid a visit to Rishi Kapoor during her visit.
The 66-year-old actor has been undergoing treatment for cancer in New York since September last year.
Neetu Kapoor shared images from the visit on her Instagram account. “Such a fun evening with adorable @deepikapadukone .. gave lot of love n warmth,” she wrote in her post.
Deepika had been close to Rishi and Neetu when she was dating their son Rishi Kapoor, before their breakup in 2009.
Yesterday, Ranbir, on the sidelines of an event, had confirmed that his father will be returning to Mumbai in a couple of months, after completing his treatment.
“He is doing much better and hopefully he should be back in a month or two. His spirits are up. He gets lots of positivity from you all. It has been a hard one year for him,” he said.
Ranbir also said that Rishi was missing being in front of the camera and was really looking forward to getting back to work.
“His desire and only endeavour in life is to act in movies. So this one year sabbatical has been a little setback for him. But he is doing really well for himself,” Ranbir said.
Apart from close family members like Karisma Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor, stars like Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Anupam Kher have also paid Rishi a visit in the hospital in the last one year. Alia Bhatt and Soni Razdan also met him during their visit to New York.
