2. No, Akshay Kumar Is Not Contesting in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections

Kesari-star Akshay Kumar has denied reports that he will contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from New Delhi for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The same reports had also suggested that he would be contesting against Congress party veteran Ajay Maken.

On Monday morning 22 April, Akshay put out a tweet saying, “Getting into an unknown and uncharted territory today. Doing something I have never done before. Excited and nervous both. Stay tuned for updates.” This led many of his fans to speculate that Akshay may be entering politics, as the actor has campaigned for the BJP and supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past.

Sriram Raghavan’s thriller Andhadhun has emerged a major box office draw in China raking in record collections of over Rs 300 crore (USD 43.4 million), the makers announced on Monday.

The film, featuring Tabu, Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte and Anil Dhawan in key roles, is a murder drama, at the centre of which is a pianist who may or may not be blind.
