1. Shabana Azmi, Kamal Haasan & Others Mourn Girish Karnad’s Death
Girish Karnad, a Jnanpith awardee, multi-lingual scholar, master playwright, screenwriter, actor and director, passed away at his residence in Bengaluru on Monday, an official said. He was 81.
"Karnad died at home at around 8.30 am due to age-related symptoms," an official in the Karnataka Chief Minister’s office told IANS.
Many Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to mourn his death. “Deeply saddened to learn about Girish Karnad. Havent yet been able to speak with his family. Its been a friendship of 43 years and I need the privacy to mourn him. I request the media to kindly excuse me from giving quotes”, Shabana Azmi tweeted.

3. Deepika Confirms Her Role as Kapil Dev’s Wife Romi Bhatia in ‘83’
Kabir Khan’s upcoming sports drama 83 will mark Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s first film together as a married couple. While Ranveer is essaying the role of former Indian skipper Kapil Dev, Deepika has confirmed that she will play Kapil’s wife Romi Bhatia.
In an interview with Bombay Times, Deepika said that she gave a nod to the film out of “passion and enthusiasm” and not just because Ranveer was starring in it. While the actor has begun prepping with material that has been sent to her, she says she hopes to spend some time with Romi Bhatia as well to better understand the role.

Actor Chris Pratt and author Katherine Schwarzenegger had been dating for seven months and they finally tied the knot. Katherine is the daughter of actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger. Pratt and Katherine got married in a private ceremony in Montecito, California, sources told People Magazine.

5. Sushmita Sen’s Brother Rajeev Marries TV Actor Charu Asopa
Sushmita Sen’s brother, Rajeev Sen, took to Instagram to announce his wedding with TV actor and long time girlfriend, Charu Asopa. They tied the knot in a court wedding on 7 June. The couple shared photographs from outside the court, where Rajeev was seen wearing a white kurta-pyjama and Charu donned a beautiful red sari.
Rajeev captioned the post, “I Rajeev Sen take Charu Asopa as my lawful wife”. Charu also shared the picture with a similar caption. Rajeev Sen is a model, while Charu is a popular actor who shot to fame with the TV show Mere Angne Mein.
