Bollywood Calls for End of Speculation Around Irrfan Khan’s Health

Karan Johar, Sonam Kapoor, Kirti Kulhari and others are batting for the actor’s right to privacy.

Qarib Qarib Singlle actor Irrfan Khan recently disclosed on Twitter that he is suffering from a rare disease and would share more about it as soon as his diagnosis is conclusive.

Speculation about the disease and Irrfan’s treatment started doing rounds in the media immediately. Fellow actors and members of the film industry are now urging that Irrfan be given the privacy he deserves and that all speculation be put on hold. From Karan Johar to Sonam Kapoor, Bollywood is urging people to show some respect for the actor.

“It (the news) makes me sad. The first news came out when we were supposed to meet at the trailer launch. I didn’t take that very seriously. I thought ok, he must be unwell. But I’m saddened by it. I honestly don’t know the details and I wouldn’t want to speculate. I wouldn’t want to be pestering him or his team for anything, for an update. He has made it very clear to everybody that he needs some time, some space. It’s sad that people are not doing that. But I’m really hoping and praying that we hear some good news from him soon.”

When Irrfan Khan has requested us not to speculate on his condition, why can’t we respect that? This is not a scoop, it’s a man’s life. Let us please leave the announcements to him.

Although IrrfanKhan is unwell, all malicious news being spread about him and his condition since an hour or two are untrue. Likewise, all other horrendous news relating to his hospitalisation are fake. By God’s grace, Irrfan is in Delhi and that’s the only truth.
