After being diagnosed with bone marrow cancer in September last year, Rishi Kapoor had to stay in the US for his treatment. Now, Anupam Kher has taken to Twitter to bid adieu to his friends Rishi and Neetu Kapoor as they leave for India. “ Dearest Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor!! Here’s wishing you a safe trip back to India after being in New York for almost a year. I have mixed feelings. I am happy & sad at the same time. I am going to miss you terribly. We had a great time together. Thank you. Love & prayers,” Anupam wrote.
Anupam Kher is currently residing in New York.
Earlier, sources had told The Quint that Rishi Kapoor is expected to be back in Mumbai as soon as 10 September. Kapoor, who celebrated his birthday on 4 September, was showered with wishes on Twitter. In his response to a few of his well wishers, he did hint that he would return home soon. In a reply to Lata Mangeshkar’s birthday greetings, Kapoor said, “Ghar wapas aa raha hoon jaldi”.
On 29 September last year, Rishi Kapoor broke the news that he was taking “a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment.” The actor also asked his fans and followers to not to worry or speculate.
