Alia Bhatt has always received appreciation for her powerful performances and she now has another feather in her cap. The nominations for the E! People's Choice Awards 2019 were announced recently and Alia has been nominated for The Most Inspiring Asian Woman of 2019, along with 7 other nominees. The 26 year old Kalank star is the only Indian to have been nominated in the category.
Alia shares her nomination with Thai model Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying, South Korean singer CL, South Korean actor Jung Yu-mi, Thai actor Praya Lundberg, Indonesian actor Raline Shah, Malaysian singer Yuna and Chinese actor Zhou Dongyu. The voting for the category is open online and will run on till 18 October. The winner will be revealed on 10 November during the award ceremony.
If Alia wins, she will be the second Indian after Priyanka Chopra to win an E! People’s Choice Award. Priyanka won Favorite Actress in a New TV Series in 2016 and Favorite Dramatic TV Actress award in 2017 for her TV show Quantico.
Alia was last seen in the big budget misfire Kalank. Earlier in the year, she was appreciated for her role opposite Ranveer Singh in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. In 2020, Alia will be seen in 3 big films - Sadak 2 directed by dad Mahesh Bhatt, Brahmastra alongside Ranbir Kapoor and SS Rajamouli's RRR. She also has Karan Johar’s ambitious period dram Takht lined up.
