The first look poster of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior was finally released by the makers and it shows Ajay Devgn looking majestic and fierce, donning a red turban and holding a sword. In the foreground, a war is waging between two armies and a fort is shown. The film starring Ajay, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan is directed by Om Raut.

Sharing the poster on Twitter, Ajay wrote, “Mind that was as sharp as a sword... #TanhajiTheUnsungWarrior, in cinemas 10th January 2020.”

Two other posters have been dropped, one showing Saif Ali Khan charging with a sword and the other showing Saif and Ajay up in arms against each other.

Set in the 17th century, the film is based on the life of Tanhaji Malusare, the military leader in the army of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Earlier this month, Ajay shared the trailer of Hirkani, a Marathi historical period drama film and wrote, “While preparing for #Tanhaji, I learnt many things about the glorious Maratha history. I also came across this brave story of motherhood. It gives me immense pleasure in sharing #HirkaniTrailer.”

The film will see Ajay and Kajol Devgn re-uniting on screen after 9 years when they starred in Toonpur Ka Super Hero.

Ajay Devgn is also joining hands with Netflix for the upcoming film Tribhanga directed by actor Renuka Shahane. The film, which derives its title from an Odissi dance pose, will begin shooting from Thursday 10 October. The film will mark the digital debut of Ajay's wife, actor Kajol, who stars alongside Mithila Palkar, Tanvi Azmi and Kunaal Roy Kapoor.

Ajay is producing the project through his banner Ajay Devgn Ffilms, in collaboration with Bannijay Asia and Siddharth P Malhotra's Alchemy Films.

“Tribhanga is a story of three women from the same household who belong to different generations. The story has a universal appeal and we wanted to tell this story as a film,” said Ajay Devgn.
