It’s confirmed. Shahid Kapoor will play the lead in the Hindi remake of the Telugu superhit Arjun Reddy. Earlier, the grapevines suggested that Arjun Kapoor would be stepping into Vijay Deverakonda’s shoes for the film, but the makers have now put the rumours to rest.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Shahid Kapoor has inked the deal and the film is supposed to go on the floors in July. The search for the lead female actor is on.
Arjun Reddy’s director Sandeep Reddy Vanga would also be helming the Hindi version, which will be produced by Murad Khetani and Ashwin Warde.
The Telugu original released in August last year and was a massive hit with Vijay Deverakonda playing a surgeon with anger management issues as well as matters of the heart when his girlfriend (played by Shalini Pandey) gets married to someone else.
